CHAPTER 15: Something NEW is Swirling About...

CHAPTER 15: Something NEW is Swirling About...

CHAPTER 15: New ideas are SWIRLING...doors are opening...all in our little WONDERLAND...
"It's no use talking about it," Alice said, looking up at the house and pretending it was arguing with her. `I'm not going in again yet. I know I should have to get through the Looking-glass again -- back into the old room -- and there'd be an end of all my adventures!'

So, resolutely turning back upon the house, she set out once more down the path, determined to keep straight on till she got to the hill. For a few minutes all went on well, and she was just saying, `I really shall do it this time -- ' when the path gave a sudden twist and shook itself (as she described it afterwards), and the next moment she found herself actually walking in at the door..."

Hello everyone!  Sadly this is my last post with Oh Alice.  I have enjoyed my time at part of the DT profusely.  You all have been so wonderful and I have meet some very talented ladies that I am proud to call my friends!  Thank you Jessica for the opportunity!

Here's my card and it's dedicated to the Mad Hatter Herself... Jessica Deidrich!

Stampotique Designers Challenge#8: Purple

I am sorry I have missed two days of posting, my laptop needed some repairs.  Please scroll down for my Tiddly Inks and Burtonesque Dolls challenges.

Stampotique Originals Challenge!

This week, Kim Prince has challenged us to create a card using the colour purple as the main colour. You can use any shade or tone of purple, hopefully this will make it a bit easier on those who don't use a lot of purple on their projects. Please remember, this week's challenge is aStampotique Originals only week! So get out your stamps and play with us! You could win free rubber from Stampotique!

I have used one of our very own designer's images Jo Caper-Sandon!  Are these images just perfect or what!  I have used three total and just masked them all together.  I was thinking of my daughter and how she loves to just lay on the grass and day dream, loves to read, and loves purple just like me!

Tiddly Inks Challenge #6

Hey everyone it's time for another fun Tiddly Inks Challenge... Bling it on!  I love bling, love glitter, and anything that sparkles!  So... I used Whoops with her ice cream scoops on the floor poor girl, but doesn't she still look fabulous!!  I soooo blinged it on!!

The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #4

OMGosh, how fun was the hop with Busy Beauties last week?!? We had a BLAST and are SUPER THRILLED that Busy Beauties is sponsoring our challenge this week!

We just can't get enough of their Corpse Bride inspired images, and decided to make The Corpse Bride (a fave in the Dollhouse) this week's challenge theme!

Challenge #4: An Affair To Remember

Think wedding (or divorce - eek), bridezillas, grooms with cold feet, etc., or it could just be the creepy cool color scheme from the movie - ANYTHING inspired by The Corpse Bride will do.  So here is mine, I am sooo loving the blue!  I loved the movie and Emily is my absolute favorite Bride!  So different than your normal Brides and heroines!

Oh Alice.... CHAPTER 14: Sketchy afternoon...

CHAPTER 14: Gettin' Sketchy in the Golden Afternoon...

"Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips,
and the sun is like a toy balloon.
There are get up in the morning glories,
in the golden afternoon.
There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside,
strings of violets are all in tune,
Tiger lilies love the dandy lions,
in the golden afternoon,
the golden afternoon.
There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede,
where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life they lead... "

Hey everyone!

We have a wonderful Sketch for you today designed by our own Jen Shults! Here's her awesome design:

Our sketch comes w/ just a small twist this week....

Busy Beauties Blog Hop!!

Busy Beauties Goes Burtonesque

Welcome to the Busy Beauties blog hop release!  The new images are inspired by the Tim Burton classic, "THE CORPSE BRIDE", and BBB illustrator Thomas Goins has really outdone himself with these amazing images! Well of course it is right up the Dolls' alley, so we were invited along for the hop *and* are super excited to announce that Busy Beauties will be sponsoring our challenge next week!
Here is the complete list of hop stops for today, and we have prizes so fab, it's freaky! Be sure to hop along and leave lots of comment love, because there are TWO Secret Beauties or Dolls along this Burtonesque inspired hop… and TWO winners will be selected from their blog comments to receive 5 (yep, FIVE) Busy Beauties images of his/her choice! So whether you are in the mood to be beauty-ful or get funky, they've got you covered.

Now here is my card using Victor!  Isn't he just so spiffy in his Tuxedo card!

I used zero Designer paper, I made my own with a white pencil for the pin stripes, and a swirly stamp for the detail on the inner "shirt" part, and the flower is by Prima Marketing I just folded it twice, made my little pocket and Viola! The bow and buttons are from my stash of sewing goods.  The splotchy coloring was intentional...I wanted to make him look "dirty" like he's been under for a bit!

At the end of the hop, the new Busy Beauties Creation Station

challenge is waiting for you. It's a sketch challenge provided by

PaperAddict Catherine, who is a member of both the Busy Beauties and The Burtonesque Dolls DTs. We hope you'll play along! You have until 11:59 EDT on June 2nd to link your creation at the Creation Station. In the meantime, we hope you'll have fun hopping and find lots of other-worldly inspiration!  Enjoy the show!

The Pink Elephant Ella's Scrapbook Challenge #7

Another fun Scrapbook challenge Thursday!  Woot woot!  This week it's a sketch made by Lori, is this sketch not fabulous or what?

Here's what I did with it... I loved the sketch, however as you can see my brain flipped it a bit!  But that's the beauty of it right... everyone see's it different and does their own creations.  I used all BoBunny papers.  My Spellbinder's Boarderabilities die to create the bottom strip, the butterflies I am not sure where I got them so forgive me, but I know I have seen them around so many of you probably know where to get them.  Hope you like my sketch canvas featuring Rio my 12 year old... doesn't look 12 does she!?  So sad to see her growing up, and she is the best daughter ever!

Tiddly Inks Challenge #5

Happy Tiddly Inks Tuesday everyone!  This week we have a fun one for you!  No Designer paper!  Woohoo, that should be a challenge for me for sure!  You are to use your Tiddly Inks Challenge and no designer paper, this will sure get you to bust out all kinds of fun tools eh?

Here is my card!  I used Cat Girl found at Tiddlyinks.com.  I did a little Photoshop editing to create the cute  cat background.

The Pink Elephant # 67

Happy Monday all... it's always Happy Monday cause it's The Pink Elephant Time!  Can I get a WOOT WOOT!!!  The Pink Elephant is dear to me because it has brought me to some wonderful ladies!  It was my first DT blog, and Lori was just the best from the get go... THANK YOU LORI for this fun opportunity, I am loving every minute of it!

OMG I totally goofed the sketch Challenge!  I am so sorry ladies, in my defense I am now going on 4 hours sleep in the past 48 hours!  Please check out the fabulous job the rest of the Pink Elephant Team has prepared for you!  And here is what I was supposed to do as far as my sketch was concerned!

Well, I kinda got it somewhat like the sketch... I used stripes!  Hee hee.  The Designer paper is my own, I tinkered with that in Illustrator as well.  The only thing that I didn't create my self is the bow which is from JoAnns, the metal ring from Making Memories, and that's it.  I made everything else my self!  Amazing what a little tinkering can get ya to accomplish sometimes!

I am so sorry I have been so distant and MIA lately!  There is lots to do before the debut of Simply Betty Stamps!  I have been working hard to get everything up and running, and I am doing it all on my own.  I have even tinkered with Illustrator and created my own Badge!  You can grab it on the Simply Betty Stamps blog here.  Okay, so here is the last that will debut June 1st, and with any luck and time being my friend... maybe a new line will arise, but don't hold me to it as I have been drawing like a maniac only to find my self in frustrating situations since I have no idea on how to work my own Illustrator and Photoshop, but I have learned a lot and my good friends Lori, Jen, and Annie have given me great pointers!  Thank you gals soooo much!  All I needed was a bit of a push I think.  Jen's awesome husband is the one that colored my Betty image on the badge... THANK YOU CHRIS!!  Jen is actually responsible for some encouragement as well as I was so inspired by her Wild Flower Kids, check them out here!  That was an awesome surprise!  Mrs. Lori gave me that extra push to get this done and I can only image that she felt like I did when she released her Puddle Jumpers, you can check those cuties out here at Die Cuts R Us!

I have truly been blessed with the support of many... starting of course with my family!  Lisa my partner in crime during those "moments" while scrapbooking!  Christopher my husband for driving me around when I need supplies so that I can catch some zzzzz in the car!  Christopher my ex-husband (nope not a typo, both important men in my life the ex and the current are Christophers) for always believing in me and supporting me as well!  Well, I could go on and on, but I know you all have other things to do!  Thanks for stopping by and please look out for fun information, the online shop opening, and other tid bits here and there about Simply Betty Stamps!

Oh Alice.... CHAPTER 13: Mushroom Inspiration...

"Oh dear! I'd nearly forgotten that I've got to grow up again! Let me see--how IS it to be managed? I suppose I ought to eat or drink something or other; but the great question is, what?''

Alice looked all round her at the flowers and the blades of grass, but she did not see anything that looked like the right thing to eat or drink under the circumstances. There was a large mushroom growing near her, about the same height as herself; and when she had looked under it, and on both sides of it, and behind it, it occurred to her that she might as well look and see what was on the top of it..."

Good day, everyone!

Today we have a fabulous inspiration piece for you and are SO excited to get to this week's challenge.  Here is your inspiration photo for this week's challenge:

We can't WAIT to see what you do with this week's challenge, and are even more excited to announce that this week, Oh, Alice is being sponsored by the wonderful Victoria Case Designs!!   How awesome is THAT?

And just WAIT until you check out the Prize!  Victoria is SUPER generous and is offering 5 Rubber Stamps to one lucky winner!  Can you believe that?!?  Thanks so much, Victoria!

Lending a Helping Hand....

Hello everyone, today my post is about helping others.  As many of you know Nashville has seen it's share of disaster lately.  I can't imagine what I would do if faced with something like that.

Jessica Deidreich has been working hard to try to help her neighborhood.  She has posted a video with information about the troubles they have seen lately.  I know I wish I could help.  I wish I too could gather clothes, food, and necessities fly over and give a helping hand.

Jen invited me to create some digis for a set called  "A Helping Hand" , designed by Jen Shults, owner/illustrator of Wildflower Patch Kids digital Stamps, and myself Betty Roberts of Simply Betty Stamps, a new stamp line debuting June 1st.

I can't tell you how touched I was to be asked to be a part of this!

A HELPING HAND

The set will retail for $15 and 100% of the proceeds are being donated to the Nashville area Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Set will go on sale Monday at the Wildflower Patch Kids store.

A mini blog hop has also been put together for you gals to show off this set.  Please hop around and check back here on Tuesday for my creations and new blog hoppers!

Thank you all for taking time to read this!  All the best to you and your families!
